Job Summary: Artisan Electronics, Inc. is seeking a Metrology Technician II to join our diverse, team-oriented company that is customer focused and employee driven. The selected candidates will join our team of exceptionally dedicated professionals in an exciting, fast-paced, highly successful company that provides engineering solutions for very complex DoD weapon systems. Responsibilities and Duties: The Metrology Technician II independently determines and performs operations required to calibrate and certify electronic and physical/dimensional measuring and test equipment, maintaining traceability to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), US Department of Commerce, or by reference to natural constants. The incumbent will utilize calibration methods and techniques based on principles of measurement science, technical analysis of measurement problems, and accuracy and precision requirements. The Metrology Technician II identifies magnitude of error sources contributing to uncertainty of results to determine reliability of measurement process in quantitative terms, diagnoses and repairs malfunction in complex measuring and test equipment using theories of operation, block diagrams, schematics, logic trees, and software diagnostics to the component level. This worker provides training to apprentice technicians on metrology principle, resolving technical problems, and complicated electronic theory. This worker will inspect measuring and test equipment for preventive maintenance, cleanliness, and safety requirements, analyze and interpret results of measurements and calibrations using mathematical formulas, and document results of measurements and calibrations on calibration certificates and calibration correction charts. Qualifications and Skills: • Associates Degree in electronics or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work experience. Military experience preferred. • Knowledge of electrical codes and best practices • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite • Experience with calibration and metrology equipment • Experience with diagnostic tools • Strong analytical and problem solving skills • 2 - 5 years of directly related experience in Engineering and Metrology support • Ability to obtain Government Security Clearance Company Description: Artisan Electronics, Inc. is a niche engineering and professional services firm focused on supporting various DoD missions.
