Overview

LOGISTICIAN I (2023-19673):

Bowhead seeks a entry level Logistician to join our team in Crane, IN at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC Crane) in support of the Maritime Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) Systems Division Acquisition Engineering, Product Support and Logistics (PS&L) Support Services. The Logisticians must have broad knowledge of the logistics elements with on-the-job work experience, preferably with Navy shipboard systems.

Responsibilities

Essential functions will include:

  • Perform duties with minimal supervision and management intervention
  • Prepare and implement directives to ensure effective logistics support and establish standards that ensure that the assigned work force is properly trained and equipped.
  • Support logistics efforts related to fielding systems for Shipbuilding and Conversion, Navy, (SCN) and sustaining EW systems during the Navy Modernization and overhaul and testing process
  • Research, analyze and identify logistics challenges and recommend mitigating actions to resolve
  • Identify, prioritize, allocate, and manage inventory to sustain planned operational requirements and assist in optimizing materiel operational availability and weapons systems readiness.
  • Execute daily workload utilizing internal division/branch policy, methods and tools to provide effective and efficient technical data control commensurate with NSWC Crane data management principles
  • Provide audit support for weapons systems, subsystems, equipment, and components; reviewing technical manuals and drawings for errors and inconsistencies and making recommended corrective actions and track all updates and revisions
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A High School diploma or equivalent is required at a minimum; however, Associate of Arts/Science with zero (0) to two (2) years’ experience is preferred. Applicants with no degree must posses two plus (2+) years of experience in a Government Logistics
  • Candidates with zero (0) to two (2) years of professional experience with integrated logistics support to include support of Integrated Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM) and Computer-Based Training (CBT) is preferred. Other experience could include a background in Configuration Management
  • Prior experience supporting NSWC Crane is preferred
  • The candidate is required to have advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
