Job Description:


The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a Network Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will become part of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Datacenter Consolidation and Cloud Optimization (DCCO) program providing Networking and Tier 3 support to the DHS Homeland Advanced Recognition Technology (HART) biometric system. The candidate is responsible for providing ongoing cloud network support, addressing availability issues, overcoming network performance problems, providing overall Tier 3 networking support, resolving customer tickets within JIRA and Service Now, and supporting system incident troubleshooting calls. The candidate is expected to closely interact with the government customer to achieve system objectives, provide ticket updates, and system status updates. Candidates are expected to be on-call for a week at a time approximately 4 – 6 times a year.


Responsibilities:

• Designing, installing, maintaining and coordinating the use of network systems in an AWS environment.

• Evaluating hardware and software and peripheral equipment for large, complex networks.

• Providing system data and information necessary to detect, troubleshoot, help analyze and resolve outages, congestion, or other network issues.

• Managing network performance, diagnosing performance problems and undertaking tuning activities to ensure network performance meets SLA requirements.

• Providing network engineering expertise to resolve operational issues.

• Reporting on overall network performance including frequent problems, underlying issues and plans to improve network availability, performance and problem resolution.

• Training users, maintaining, creating and deleting user accounts.

• Maintaining and updating network diagrams and security plans.

• Implementing and coordinating network policies, procedures and standards.

• Providing technical support to install and deploy new technologies as they are adopted, including hardware, software, network communications hardware and software, security products, and other information technology products or services required to support the operations and maintenance environment.

• Help develop, document, communicate, and enforce a network technology policy.

• Support active directory/LDAP, certificate services, network communications, and group policy and security compliance.

• Work independently and in team settings to achieve key project/program objectives and deliverables.

• Provide on-call support for a week at a time: approximately 4 – 6 weeks per year.


Qualifications:

Required:

• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. government agency level clearance (the DHS EOD, which you must have prior to starting).

• 5 years of relevant Information Technology Experience.

• Experience deploying and managing cloud-based network services and monitoring tools

• Experience with AWS or AWS GovCloud • Solid knowledge of RHEL, Windows, Openshift/Kubernetes & other open-source technologies.


Desired:

• Experience with transitioning from IPv4 to IPv6 is a plus

• Experience with Cisco and Juniper products, Linux, scripting, VMware, and OpenShift.

• Network & Security Certifications (e.g. Network+, Security+, SSCP, GSEC, CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, CISSP, AWS certifications).

• Experience with JIRA Ticketing systems preferred

• Experience with DevOps and Agile methodologies

• Experience with RedHat OpenShift

• Experience with Microsoft Visio
