The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking senior level Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Engineer to lead RHEL and Satellite Engineering efforts supporting the Department of the Air Force (DAF) Enterprise Information Technology as a Service (EITaaS).

Responsibilities:

As a Senior RHEL Engineer, you will be responsible for overall application design, implementation, and management of Red Hat Satellite 6.16 and Ansible Automation Platform 2.5.

In this role you will:

  • Deploy containerized infrastructure (Podman Execution Environments)
  • Manage large-scale patching and configuration management and compliance across hybrid RHEL 8 and RHEL 9 systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define host group structures, automation job templates, and compliance baselines
  • Troubleshoot host registration, subscription, and repo sync issues across dev, staging/test, and prod environments, providing support for Red Hat infrastructure components and ensure timely resolution of enterprise-level issues
  • Maintain expert level understanding of enterprise, program, and tool level architecture.
  • Provide input on IMS development
  • Work with Stakeholders to define the roadmap plan for the RHEL capabilities
  • Evangelize the developed solution and support breakdown of tasks into WBS
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and developments
  • Ensure all daily, sprint and release goals are achieved
  • Identify risks, opportunities, compliance issues or other architectural concerns and provide recommendations
  • Develop product teams technical skills through mentoring, coaching, and peer reviews

Annual Performance Objectives

  • Develop and maintain a 10 year roadmap
  • Establish and meet 2 year strategic goals
  • Ensure RHEL and Ansible solutions are successfully deployed and comply with DAF standards and policies

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • 15+ Years of relevant experience (Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field may be substituted for 5 years of experience).
  • 10+ years of Red Hat Operating System Experience
  • 5+ years of experience configuring and managing host-based firewalls and system services
  • Experience managing LINUX disk and volume
  • Experience generating and managing X.509 certificates and private keys for system services and integration with certificate authorities such as DoD NPE.
  • 5+ years of experience deploying and managing Red Hat Satellite 6.16 with integrated Capsule Servers (Smart Proxies) across distributed network segments
  • 5+ years of experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform 2.5 Application
  • Ability to collaborate with Developers, Program Managers, Testers, and Production Support Engineers to implement innovative technical solutions via iterative approach reducing time to delivery
  • Proven experience working directly to oversee and contribute to the architecture and development in an enterprise environment
  • Ability to anticipate issues and formulate remedial actions
  • Excellent technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$90,300-$189,600
