In this position you will work alongside our Linux developers. This team is responsible for the architecture and development of software that will run on the end user devices. You will
be part of an awesome team that works with cutting edge technologies. You will collaborate with the broader development department. Architect and develop functional and non-functional requirements. Develop on and for immutable operating systems.
More About the Role
As a Linux Engineer/Developer, you will work alongside our Linux developers your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain software applications that run on Linux-based operating systems. Your daily tasks will include:
- Developing Linux-based applications: You will be responsible for developing software applications that run on Linux-based operating systems using programming languages such as Python, Bash, C, C++, and some Rust.
- Designing and implementing software solutions: You will be responsible for designing and implementing software solutions that meet the specific requirements of the organization.
- Integrating with third-party software: You will be responsible for integrating software applications with third-party software, including databases, web servers, and other software systems.
- Writing and testing code: You will be responsible for writing, testing, and debugging code to ensure that the software applications are functional and meet the requirements of the organization.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams: You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, system administrators, and network engineers, to ensure that the software applications meet the needs of the organization.
- Keeping up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends: You will be required to keep up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in Linux-based software development, including software development methodologies, tools, and techniques.
To be successful in this position you will need to enjoy challenges that range from moderately to highly complex while drawing on all domains of knowledge you and the team possess. You should expect daily work will touch on embedded Linux, networking, client server relationships and communication, embedded hardware, mobile devices, and so much more. The outcome of your work will be to help secure communications of critical systems operated by our current and future clients.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications
Educational Background: BA/BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent field
Professional Experience: 7 Years experience working with Linux
- Linux Environments: Extensive experience with Linux environments, especially Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). Candidates should be comfortable with all aspects of RHEL, including system administration (systemd), package management (RPMs), and security configurations (selinux).
- Programming: Familiarity and experience developing in languages like Python, Bash and Rust
- Bash Scripting: Proficiency in Bash scripting and Linux automation tasks to streamline development and deployment processes.
- Hypervisors and Virtualization: Experience with and developing for KVM and type 1 hypervisors
- Version Control: Experience with Git (GitLab/GitHub) and collaborative workflows. Familiarity with branching strategies and pull request workflows is essential.
- CI/CD Practices: Exposure to CI/CD practices, with a preference for experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Networking: Demonstratable understanding of the TCP/IP stack and networking
These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have
- Experience working with CSfC, Cross Domain, Single Domain, and RTB solutions
- RHEL specific experience and certifications.
- Working knowledge of PKI

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$98,500-$206,800
