The Opportunity:
CACI has exciting opportunities for a Technical Writer in support of the Department of the Air Force (DAF) Enterprise IT as a Service (EITaaS) program. The successful candidate will be a professional who has strong technical documentation skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to understand technical information and convey in in documented form appropriate to the target audience. They will be a strong team player who is able to work effectively and efficiently to meet team and program timelines.
EITaaS Program is a Department of the Air Force (DAF) initiative, which includes the Air Force and Space Force. EITaaS will transform the Dept. of the Air Force IT services to an advanced enterprise service delivery model, providing enhanced enterprise IT capabilities, global service desk, local field services, and life cycle support for end-user devices.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the Technical Writer on the VDI team and for other EITaaS teams, for the Dept. of the Air Force. The EITaaS VDI team is responsible for designing, developing, deploying, maintaining, and expanding an Enterprise VDI solution to support the requirements of the internal EITaaS team and the Major Commands of the Dept. of the Air Force.
You will work with your manager and colleagues to understand requirements, priorities, and objectives to ensure work supports the larger capabilities and direction of the overall solution. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining clear, concise, and accurate documentation for the EITaaS Capability teams, including, primarily, the EITaaS VDI team. You will work closely with the program’s engineers, capability owners, and other subject matter experts to understand complex concepts and translate them into audience-appropriate materials. You will work with the team to understand, develop, and document technical processes, solution designs, system configurations, user documentation, and solution presentations. Your colleagues on the team will provide the technical information needed to develop the required documentation. You will work with the EITaaS Engineering Support team to take documents through their formal program review and issuing process.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Documentation Development:
- Plan, research, write, edit, and revise a wide range of technical documentation, including solution design, implementation specifications, user guides, installation guides and other standard operating procedures, Knowledge Base articles, and other program documents and solution presentations
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand product features, functionality, and technical specifications.
- Ensure documentation is drafted using the latest templates and is accurate, consistent, and adheres to company style guidelines and best practices.
- Adapt writing style and tone to suit the target audience (e.g., end-users, engineers, program leadership).
- Manage documentation projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project deadlines.
- Submit artifacts to the EITaaS review process. Be prepared to address any comments or requested edits. Ensure artifacts are successfully moved through the document workflow process and published.
- Content Management:
- Maintain and update existing documentation to reflect product changes and new features.
- Organize and maintain documentation in a structured and easily accessible format.
- Utilize content management systems (CMS) and documentation tools to create, manage, and publish documentation.
- Implement and maintain version control for documentation.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with engineering, product, and support teams to gather information and validate documentation.
- Participate in team and program meetings to stay informed of upcoming changes.
- Solicit and incorporate feedback from users and stakeholders to improve documentation quality.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams regarding documentation status and project timelines.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve documentation processes and workflows.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of style guides and documentation standards.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in technical writing.
Qualifications:
Required:
- US Citizenship required.
- 8+ Years of relevant experience (Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field may be substituted for 5 years of relevant experience).
- Ability to obtain/maintain secret clearance, Active DoD clearance preferred but not required.
- Experience documenting technical procedures, solutions, system specification.
- Experience with documentation tools including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat and content management systems (e.g., SharePoint, Git).
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency in creating and formatting documents using various software applications.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams concurrently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Ability to create and execute documented detailed technical processes.
Desired:
- Experience with Microsoft Windows operating system and applications.
- Experience with Azure or AWS cloud platforms.
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
- Experience with enterprise security controls such as DISA STIGs or NIST 800-53.

Pay Range:
This posting is for a position covered by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCA). The pay and benefits provided for this position will meet or exceed the minimum required amounts detailed in the wage determination issued by the Department of Labor and made applicable to this position, as incorporated into CACI’s government contract for the work location.
Since the position can be worked in more than one location, the rate shown is the Minimum Wage for Federal Contractors. The actual rate will be based on contract, location and job classification.
Minimum Required Hourly Wage:
$17.75
