Overview
The Continuous Improvement Engineer at Cook Inc. coaches teams and individuals to increase efficiencies in manufacturing processes by using Lean principles to reduce waste. This position is expected to facilitate Rapid Improvement Projects & coach others to facilitate these projects.
Responsibilities
• Collect & analyze data for rapid improvement projects and discuss with process owners and internal customers
• Prepare data, write project charters, identify project stakeholders & team members for rapid improvement projects
• Use collaborative team based problem solving approach, coach team to identify wastes and how to reduce wastes using Lean tools and root cause analysis
• Mentor future improvement project facilitators & monitor changed processes
• Coach team members, assess results of changed processes, document results via data analysis and written project summaries, communicate results to team members and stakeholder
• Coach others on Lean principles during day-to-day operations and scheduled trainings
• Lean deployment strategy development, promote Continuous Improvement to others
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
• Previous Lean Manufacturing experience is preferred
Physical Requirements:
• Works under general office environment conditions, as well as ability to routinely walk the production floor to observe processes
• Proper attire/clothing and personal protective equipment/clothing as required within Controlled Production Areas
