Overview

The Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for tax compliance, reporting, and planning for Cook companies based in the Americas.

Responsibilities

• Prepare transfer pricing calculations and monitor intercompany profitability
• Assist in preparation of various transfer pricing documents and procedures.
• Assist in preparing U.S. International Tax aspects of U.S. tax return.
• Assist in preparing BEPS Pillar 2 calculations and GloBE return
• Prepare FBAR forms annually, as required – FinCEN Form 114.
• Work with external firm in preparing the Canadian corporate income tax return
• Assist with annual tax provision

• Act as a resource for Accounts Payable questions related to withholding on foreign persons, including reviewing Forms 1042 and 1042-S and monitoring compliance with Cook's withholding policy on payments to foreign vendors.
• Research, understand and implement new tools and systems to improve processes
• Ensure that Cook’s Code of Conduct is considered in all business matters carried out on Cook’s behalf

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field from accredited university
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• CPA preferred
• Excellent computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft® Office
• Understanding of tax research software, tax compliance software, and ERP systems
• Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI would be strong advantage in this position

• Ability to extract, analyze and review data and to make appropriate recommendations with minimal supervision and guidance
• Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of management
• Ability to work effectively within the team and cross-functionally
• Strong organizational skills, creative problem-solving skills and adaptability
• Minimal travel expected
