Overview

Responsible for ensuring visibility, compliance, and operational control of field-based inventory. This role is required to develop new and improve existing Field Based Inventory (FBI) policies and processes and to develop and improve strategies globally or regionally to stay aligned with our company goals and priorities. Responsible for educating and enabling data-driven decision-making for Divisional personnel who are responsible for Filed Based Inventory in each region. Establish global metrics to ensure compliance with all field-based inventories.

Field Based Inventory (FBI) consists of rep stock, consignment, and strategic inventory locations globally. This role may serve in a global or regional capacity.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Division, Finance, and Operational Unit stakeholders to develop, lead, implement best practices to ensure consistency in field-based inventory and alignment with our mission, vision and values.
• Maintain real-time visibility into field inventory levels across global regions using ERP, WMS, and other tools.
• Monitor inventory health, including aging, turnover, and location accuracy by coordinating regular cycle counts and audits to validate field inventory accuracy.
• Support the enforcement of established inventory control policies and procedures with collaboration with regional teams to ensure adherence to inventory governance standards.
• Identify and escalate non-compliance issues and recommend corrective actions
• Work with 3rd party logistics vendors as needed to effectively manage logistics of field-based inventories.
• Identify areas for improvement in inventory and logistics processes, elevate and collaborate with divisional leadership and CSD operations.
• Educate key stakeholders and leadership team on field inventory initiatives, reporting and processes, and policies.
• Help with the change management for the customer facing teams as it relates to the FBI module within Oracle or other platforms.
• Collaborate with division business management to ensure engagement and compliance with FBI expectations, initiatives and processes.
• Foster communication with Divisional and CSD and stakeholders to ensure alignment with FBI and distribution business policies and procedures.
• Help develop and utilize standardized inventory reports in reporting platforms such as Business Objects.
• Provide reports on inventory levels, stock movement, storage locations, and logistics performance as part of Sales Inventory and Operations report outs (SIOP).
• Establish and adhere to global governance process for identifying what products can be allowed on consignment and rep stock and collaborate with division stakeholders to establish appropriate par levels.
• Continuously evaluate and improve the strategy and execution for divisional FBI through monitoring metrics and listening to feedback from customers and employees.
• Take action and resolve issues and gaps quickly, effectively, and compliantly.
• Understand and be accountable for conducting Cook business with integrity and in compliance
• with applicable standards including Cook policies.
• Within scope of responsibility, ensure all quality, regulatory, compliance, and product-specific requirements are met.

Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
• Requires a Bachelor’s Degree or relevant equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of prior relevant experience in Inventory, Product Management, Sales, or Sales Management.

• Comfortable working in a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders.

Physical Requirements:

• Requires occasional early morning or evening teleconferences.
• Works under general office environmental conditions, with sitting for extended periods.
• Utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers and equipment.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, subject to reasonable accommodation under national disability requirements.
• May travel domestically, internationally, and weekends as needed.

• While this role is remote in nature, it is expected that this employee would be onsite from time to time as business needs arise.

• Candidates that reside within a 1-hour radius via car from Cook Medical in Bloomington, Indiana preferred.
