PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Service and maintain manufacturing equipment by checking, testing, troubleshooting, and replacing faulty mechanical components; perform running adjustments, repairs, and overhauls as needed.
- Plan and execute preventative maintenance while ensuring all work complies with safety rules, plant policies, and PPE/permit requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, manuals, and procedures to guide repairs and fabrication.
- Use hand, power, and shop tools—including welding and machining—to repair, maintain, and fabricate parts for safe and efficient equipment operation.
- Collaborate with mechanical/electrical technicians and production operators to troubleshoot issues; participate in major installations with other trades.
- Operate forklifts, aerial manlifts, and similar equipment; perform tasks requiring climbing, bending, crawling, and maneuvering into various positions.
- Complete other mechanical/maintenance duties as assigned, including determining pipe specifications and alternative procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Welding (Arc and Tig).
- Plasma cutter and acetylene torch experience.
- Understanding and knowledge of tools used in maintenance.
- Millwright.
- Computer- experience in Microsoft applications and a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Work in a non-climate controlled environment.
- Must be able to work 12 hour rotating shifts (days, nights, holidays, and weekends) and overtime.
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairs and work at heights.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces.
- Must wear protective equipment, including the ability to wear a respirator.
- Be able to work in a smoke and tobacco free environment.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English
- Must be able to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing.
- Lift up to 55 lbs.
