Position Summary

The Machining Leadperson is responsible for leading the MACHINING crew with stations that include (but not limited to) Weeke 145, Weeke 555, Brema, EB area, and forklift. This position will also assist the Machining Supervisor in areas of that department at the Plywood facility.

Organizational Relationship

This position reports directly to the Machining Supervisor.

Accountabilities

· Coach, support, and train team members

· Ensure team members meet safety and productivity requirements

· Collaborate with support functions to solve problems. BE the solution.; Act as first line responsible for problem-solving linked to safety, quality, and efficiency

· Enter employee hours, non-control and transfer at the end of the shift or when the supervisor is not present

· Be knowledgeable of CNC machining.

· Have great communication with team members so that they are aware of expectations.

· Learn all aspects of the department’s operation, including filling in when other team members are absent

· Lead daily meetings with team members

· Attend daily production meetings

Education & Experience

· Prior experience in manufacturing processes preferred

· Prior experience in CNC machining preferred

· Knowledge of the standard and metric measuring systems required
