All employees must wear safety glasses at all times. (Non-prescription safety glasses will be provided by Indiana Furniture.) Hearing protection and work gloves are available upon request. Individuals accepting job assignments with Indiana Furniture must be able to work during scheduled work hours on a regular basis.
Upholstery Floater must be able to perform the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations:
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to upholster tack boards or willingness to be trained.
- Willingness to cross train
- Lift up to 50 lbs maximum and up to 20 lbs regularly. (Anything heavier requires assistance with lifting).
- Setting up the upholstery line with all the materials upholsterers would need (ie: foam, cut fabric, tack-strips, etc).
- Ability to use a computer.
- Learn how to operate the C-Gex machine.
- Take upholstered chair and assemble seats, legs, arms, etc according to tag.
- Apply nail trim according to tag if needed.
- Level chairs.
- Assemble bases to swivel chairs, couches, etc.
- Able to use multiple types of hand tools, i.e. staple gun, screw drives, drills, etc.
- Moving upholstered chairs to the packing area.
