All employees must wear safety glasses at all times. (Non-prescription safety glasses will be provided by Indiana Furniture.) Hearing protection and work gloves are available upon request. Individuals accepting job assignments with Indiana Furniture must be able to work during scheduled work hours on a regular basis.
Upholsterer: must be able to perform the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations:
- Ability to upholster the entire chair independently
- A minimum of 1 year prior experience in upholstery
- Able to pleat and tuft chairs
- Requires heavy lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally
- Able to work independently
- Knowledge of how to utilize staple guns, screw guns and general hand tools
- After training period must be able to maintain a minimum of 75% efficiency
- Good eye for detail is REQUIRED
- Must scan chair tags in and out to capture upholstery time data
- Examine products or work to verify conformance to specifications
- Inspect products or materials for damage, defects or shortages
- Cut or trim fabric or leather
- Recognize characteristics of cloth or fabric
- Repair tears or defects in fabrics
- Must do self-inspection of completed chair before completion of chair
- Must be responsible for turning in production time sheet daily
- Must be able to work production schedules including mandatory overtime
