• Position Summary

  This is a non-supervisory role that is responsible for leading the MACHINING crew with stations that include (but not limited to) the Cut Cell, Rimming, and Receiving area. This position will also assist the Machining Supervisor in areas of that department at the Plywood facility.

  Accountabilities

  · Coach, support, and train team members

  · Learn all aspects of the department’s operation, including filling in when other team members are absent

  · Ensure team members meet safety and productivity requirements

  · Meet quality expectations by achieving quality goals

  · Create attainable expectations for your team.

  · Collaborate with support functions to solve problems. BE the solution.; Act as first line responsible for problem-solving linked to safety, quality, and efficiency

  · Enter employee hours, non-control and transfer at the end of the shift or when the supervisor is not present

  · Be knowledgeable of the cut cell, rimming, and receiving processes.

  · Have great communication with team members so that they are aware of expectations.

  · Learn all aspects of the department’s operation, including filling in when other team members are absent

  · Lead daily meetings with team members

  · Attend daily production meetings

  Education & Experience

  · Prior experience in manufacturing processes preferred

  · Prior experience in machining preferred

  · Knowledge of the standard and metric measuring systems required
