Job Description

This is a fully on-site position with a regular Monday–Friday schedule, though occasional weekend or non-standard hours and travel may be required for events, weather, or special projects. The anticipated salary range for this position is $75,000-$85,000/year and is commensurate with experience.

Start your next chapter leading facilities operations for one of Indiana University Foundation’s most essential teams!The Indiana University Foundation is seeking an Assistant Facilities Director to oversee daily maintenance operations for multiple IUF buildings, ensuring they remain safe, functional, and welcoming for all who work and visit.

Reporting to the Director of Facilities, you will provide leadership to custodial and maintenance staff, manage capital and renovation projects, and oversee IUF-owned properties. In this role, you’ll guide a dedicated team by assigning projects through our Maintenance Management System, developing preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring that all equipment and assets remain in top condition. You’ll partner closely with the Director of Facilities on strategic planning, vendor negotiations, and department initiatives, while also being ready to roll up your sleeves and step into hands-on work when needed.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma required.
  • 7 years’ experience in a maintenance technician or in construction trades work required.
  • 5 years in a supervisory role required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple ongoing priorities
  • Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems
  • Knowledge in space planning, inventory, and documenting policies/procedures
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, electrical and other building systems
  • Familiarity and application of city, county, and state building codes
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • AutoCAD experience preferred
  • Must have valid driver’s license
