Position Summary
Indiana University School of Nursing (IUSON) established its first endowed professorship in 1996 in honor of the first dean, Emily Holmquist. This professorship focuses on pediatric oncology nursing—an area that builds on the existing strengths of the school and its long history of close association with the Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.
IUSON is seeking exceptional candidates for the Emily Holmquist Professor or Scholar in Pediatric Oncology Nursing.
Overall, the candidate’s responsibilities include contributing to IUSON’s research, teaching, and service missions.
1. The candidate is expected to have a record of nationally and/or internationally disseminated and peer reviewed scholarship in pediatric oncology nursing. For appointment to Associate Professor, applicants must show evidence of an emerging national reputation. For appointment to Full Professor, applicants must show evidence of a sustained national reputation as demonstrated by a well-established and cumulative body of work in rank.

2. The successful candidate will have the ability to work with interdisciplinary teams of interprofessional researchers across clinical and academic settings.

3. The candidate is expected to engage in high-quality teaching and mentoring. The candidate will leverage diverse teaching strategies to create inclusive learning spaces as well as to prepare our graduates to enter and lead in an increasingly complex world. The candidate will serve as a mentor and a role model for students and faculty colleagues.

4. The candidate is expected to actively participate in service at the school, campus, community, and professional levels.
Basic Qualifications
· PhD is required. While a PhD in Nursing Science is preferred, candidates who have earned a PhD in a related field (e.g. public health, health sciences, psychology, sociology, education) will be considered if they hold a master’s degree or equivalent in nursing.
· Expertise in pediatric oncology nursing is required.
· The successful applicant will have a record of scholarly achievement, including a history of success suitable for appointment as an Associate or Full Professor.
· The ability to work with interdisciplinary teams of interprofessional researchers across clinical and academic settings and possession of interpersonal skills necessary to serve as a mentor and a role model for students and faculty colleagues are essential.
· Licensed or eligible for Indiana RN licensure is required.
