The appointment may begin as early as August 1st, 2026 (with flexible start dates), for an initial term of two years, with the possibility of extension to a third year based on performance and funding. The IU Nuclear Theory Group consists of four faculty members, several postdoctoral researchers, and graduate students. Current research areas include: hadronic amplitude analysis and scattering theory, heavy-ion collisions and the properties of hot QCD matter, hadronic probes of beyond-the-Standard-Model physics, and formal developments in lattice QCD. A Ph.D. in theoretical high-energy or nuclear physics is required by time of appointment. Research experience in one or more relevant areas, including lattice QCD, effective field theory, hadronic/nuclear scattering, is preferred. Applications, including a CV, a statement of research interests and future plans, and three letters of reference, should be submitted through the application portal located at: https://indiana.peopleadmin.com/postings/30550 Review of applications will begin on November 15th, 2025, and will continue until the position is filled.
