Job Description

Put your research skills to work for a mission that matters. The Indiana University Foundation is seeking a part-time, temporary Research Associate to join the Prospect Management, Research, and Data Quality team. In this role, you will complete research requests and audit prospect records to support the behind-the-scenes work that leads to transformational gifts. You will sharpen your research craft, learn how high-quality data fuels fundraising strategy, and collaborate across the team to identify key insights that help gift officers prioritize their next strategic step.

You will assist with managing the request queue, complete focused research projects, and support our digital files and archives. If you are detail-oriented, technically adept, and curious about fundraising or nonprofit work, this part-time role offers meaningful experience and growth.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma required, with a minimum of 1 year of administrative experience required (combinations of education and experience considered)

  • Experience with spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets)

  • Experience with updating records and organizing files

  • Familiarity with fundraising databases or CRMs preferred

  • Background in philanthropy, nonprofit work, or research is a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to read and follow documentation

  • Strong written communication

  • Critical thinking

  • Professional judgment when handling confidential data

  • Technically apt

  • Organized, self-motivated, and reliable with excellent time management

  • Proofreading or editing skills a plus

Additional Information

This position is on-site, part-time and temporary. We anticipate the position being available for at least 12 months with potential for extension. The pay for this position is $16.00-17.00 per hour, and the Research Associate will work 20-25 hours per week on a regular, mutually agreeable schedule.
