The Department of Emergency Medicine offers an exceptional platform for a visionary academic leader. The department is a recognized leader in toxicology, emergency medical services (EMS), wellness, point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS), medical education, and high-acuity emergency care. Its clinical and educational footprint is anchored by three Level I trauma centers, IU Health Methodist’s Comprehensive Stroke Center, and verified adult and pediatric burn-center expertise through Eskenazi Health and Riley Children’s Health. This position is ideal for an accomplished leader who is visionary in developing interdisciplinary research programs and clinical models that improve acute care outcomes. The ideal candidate will be an enterprise thought-leader, adept at fostering scientific collaboration, driving clinical excellence within a complex health system, and mentoring faculty and learners to achieve their full potential. A doctorate or terminal degree is required. Minimum qualifications include an MD, MD/PhD or equivalent, and credentials that merit appointment at the rank of Professor with tenure. The individual selected for this position will have a strong track record of extramurally funded research and be a principled leader with a record of clinical excellence, teaching, administrative accomplishment, exceptional communication, and interpersonal skills.
