The Office of Civil Rights Compliance (OCRC) is seeking a part time Search and Screen Specialist to help ensure best practices in the search and screen process, primarily by monitoring faculty and staff searches and providing support in hiring procedures.

Department Specific Responsibilities

  • Provides regular monitoring of staff and faculty job postings for compliance concerns.
  • Monitors how applicants move through the search process and identify areas requiring follow-up.
  • Maintains documentation on processes followed and any trends identified.
  • Supports with other projects related to civil rights compliance.
  • Collaborates with colleagues on other campuses or departments as needed.

Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education.

EDUCATION

Required

  • Associates degree.

Preferred

  • Bachelors degree.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Preferred

  • 2 years of experience in a related area including legal, compliance, human resources, higher education, or other work experience requiring a high degree of accuracy.

SKILLS

Required

  • Strong written communication skills.

  • Demonstrates strong judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Maintains a high degree of professionalism.
  • Highly dependable with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to appropriately prioritize tasks.

Preferred

  • Experience with human resource management systems.

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Bloomington, Indiana or Indianapolis, Indiana

This position is eligible to work a remote or hybrid schedule (mix between remote and in-person work), subject to change based on university policy and departmental business needs.

$20.00 - $25.00 an hour depending upon qualifications

Scheduled between 9:00 am-5:00 pm

Monday -Friday

Estimated 10-15 hours a week.

Applicants who can generally have hours scheduled all 5 days are highly preferred.
