Mentoring Services and Leadership Development (MSLD) serves as a go-to resource for undergraduate students seeking personal encouragement, career support, leadership development, academic advice, and more. Indiana University's Office of Student Life administers Mentoring Services and Leadership Development (MSLD) as a way to support students to support students throughout their academic journey and beyond.
The Program Outreach Support Leader (POSL) position provides logistical and programmatic support for the Office of Mentoring Services and Leadership Development.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Creates marketing materials for events throughout the year, including digital ads, social media posts, physical flyers and signs, that are aligned with IU branding standards and program goals.
- Develops and maintains technology tools applicable to the position, such as Canvas and GroupMe.
- Develops and maintains social media and marketing tools applicable to the position, such as LinkedIn, Instagram, beINvolved, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud applications, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Meets with MSLD Administrative Coordinator on a recurring basis.
- Attends required FASE events for marketing purposes.
- Evaluates program events and initiatives through marketing, branding, and awareness lenses.
- Develops and expands MSLD and FASE branding and awareness campus-wide through effective and concise communication, marketing strategies, and social media campaigns based on critical reflections and evaluations.
EDUCATION
Required
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at Indiana University as a sophomore or above in class standing
- Good Academic standing for the duration of employment
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
- Experience with program development, planning, and execution
- Experience with social media and marketing strategies
SKILLS
Required
- Experience with LinkedIn, Instagram, beINvolved, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud applications, and Microsoft Office applications
- Display integrative learning with technology skills
- Demonstrate high professional standards
- Possess strong problem solving and decision-making skills
- Reliable and communicative
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

10 hours per week with additional hours based on department needs
