The Jacobs School Marketplace is an online store that offers IU Jacobs branded apparel and merchandise. Marketplace also has a kiosk in the Musical Arts Center that is open during all Jacobs School of Music mainstage performances as well as special events, like orientation, graduation, etc.

Department Specific Responsibilities

  • Responsible for setting up and operating the kiosk, managing and tracking inventory, and communicating needs with business office staff.
  • Works at kiosk prior to house-open, during intermission, and after performances and events (including set-up and tear-down).
  • Tracks inventory and communicate when items are low in stock.
  • Maintains POS devices to ensure that they are operating properly, charged, and communicate any issues.;

  • Runs sales reports and close the POS and Marketplace Kiosk at end of each shift.

EDUCATION

Required

  • High School diploma or equivalent (such as HESD or GED)

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Customer service experience

Preferred

  • Retail sales experience

SKILLS

Required

  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Comfortable with computers and technology

Must be available to work performances at the Musical Arts Center.

Event dates and times. The lobby opens 1 hour prior to showtime. Shifts begin 1-1.5 hours prior to performance. Show times are generally 2-3 hours, but can range from 1-4 hours, so shift end times will vary.

Performance lengths vary, but generally around 2-3 hours.

Pay is $15 per hour
