| Position Summary | The Jacobs School of Music seeks candidates for a position in the Percussion Department in general/orchestral percussion/timpani. Applicants who also possess skills in the areas of drum set and/or world percussion are encouraged to apply. Regardless of the areas of specialization, expertise and versatility in teaching all aspects of percussion will be expected. The successful candidate will be able to attract highly talented students and will be able to prepare them for careers as percussionists in a wide variety of settings. Studio instruction for undergraduate and graduate percussion students as well as chamber music coaching. Orchestral repertoire class (percussion/timpani) may also be a component of this job. Participation in school‐wide committees and departmental hearings, auditions, recruitment, master classes, and other activities is expected. |
| Basic Qualifications | Established national/international reputation and demonstrated ability as a performer and teacher, able to attract highly talented students. Significant experience in general/orchestral percussion/timpani performance. Master’s degree required, doctorate preferred; comparable professional experience will be given equal consideration. |
