Fleet Services is the full-service, fleet management organization at Indiana University (IU). We provide vehicle and equipment rentals, leases, maintenance, fueling, and manage micro-transit van services for IU Bloomington (IU-B), and fleet program assistance for the IU regional campuses. Our team provides safe, reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable transportation solutions for our customers to support the mission of Indiana University.
IU Ride is a late-night rideshare service for students provided by Indiana University's Motor Pool, which provides all vehicles and materials we use. The service is a vital part of the Indiana-Bloomington community, providing a free, safe, and reliable transportation option for IU-B students. It has been serving students and faculty in various capacities since 1981 when IU Ride was originally established as Women's Wheels to meet the safety needs of women on campus.
Driving, navigating, managing schedules- IU students make it all happen. This position is ideal for someone who likes staying up late and wants to protect the safety of the IU community. The pay is competitive, and the scheduling is flexible. And we get to do something that makes a difference for others, which is the best benefit.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Respond to ride requests and drive students to desired location.
- Be able to instruct directions verbally to the driver.
- Able to monitor the IU RIDE application and respond in the timely manner to requests.
EDUCATION
Required
- Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Required
- Possess a valid driver's license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University upon date of hire.
OTHER
- 18 years old to navigate.
- 20 years old to drive.

This position requires a motor vehicle to safely operate for extended periods, frequently enter and exit vehicles, and walk between pickup and drop-off locations. Requires the ability to use computers, mobile devices, and communication equipment; communicate effectively in person and by phone; and remain alert while monitoring ride requests and navigating campus routes. The person in this role must be able to move items up to 20 pounds and work outdoors. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential tasks with or without accommodation.

Shifts will be scheduled Monday - Sunday
7:30 PM - 11:00 PM
8:30 PM - 12:30 AM
11:00 PM - 1:45 AM
All shifts are worked with peers.
This position is capped at 29 hours per week.
