OPTOMETRY (BL-OPT-IUBLA)

  • Provides high-quality patient care.
  • Supports Indiana University (IU) School of Optometry clinics.
  • Uses specialized imaging equipment for patient care and student instruction.
  • Transmits image data to databases and corrects system errors.
  • Trains and supervises optometry students on clinical care and administrative policies.
  • Schedules outside referrals and distributes exam records via fax, email, or mail.
  • Works directly with faculty to optimize clinic-wide patient care.
  • Collects federally required documentation and triages incoming patient concerns.

EDUCATION

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED).

WORK EXPERIENCE

Preferred

  • 1 year of optometric technician experience.

SKILLS

Required

  • Proficient communication skills.
  • Ability to complete work independently.
  • Advanced optical knowledge.

Most weeks up to 29 hours per week.

Monday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, Wednesday 8:00 AM-1:00 PM, Thursday 12:00 PM-5:00 PM, and Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM.
