The Division of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at Indiana University School of Medicine is seeking to add a clinical track faculty physician to provide patient care and serve as a clinician educator. Expert neonatologists at Riley Children’s Health deliver specialized, evidence-based care to neonates in need of lifesaving choices. In many cases, our care begins prenatally and continues through the transition to home with comprehensive, multidisciplinary follow-up. Clinically, this role is expected to perform twenty weeks of clinical service at Riley Hospital NICUs or a local level 3 community NICU location. On an annual basis, call responsibilities will consist of twenty-four in-house calls, eight weekend rounding shifts, and moonlighting options. As an educator, there are numerous activities to advance programs within the department at both the student and resident level across all campuses. Faculty are involved in supervision and instruction of residents and medical students on clinical services. We also encourage participation in various didactic programs, as well as activities in the skills lab and simulation center. There are numerous activities to advance our research programs within the department and we anticipate this individual to actively participate and facilitate research activities either through direct investigator lead research projects or via referral of patients to ongoing clinical research projects.

The Department of Pediatrics at IUSM/Riley Hospital for Children is a 398-member faculty that is consistently within the top 10 pediatric departments in NIH funded research in the United States and has 19 Fellowship programs. There is a new large pediatric clinical research center, a new pediatric outpatient center dedicated to general pediatrics and neurodevelopment related divisions in pediatrics, genetics, and psychiatry. There are also State-of-the-art laboratories in a dedicated pediatric research building, a clinical research center, a well-functioning biobank, six T32 fellow training grants and one K12s that support research in the Department. Our nationally recognized Division of Children’s Health Research is available for collaboration and as a resource for combined fellowships with the pediatric hospitalist program. The Department also has research relationships with the Regenstrief Institute in Health Informatics. Pediatric Radiology and Pediatric Neuroradiology are strong research partners.
