The Higher Education Financial Wellness Alliance (HEFWA) is a national organization dedicated to advancing financial wellness in higher education. HEFWA supports institutions, professionals, and partners working to improve financial wellness outcomes for students and campus communities. Through membership, digital programming, resources, events, CashCourse support, and national engagement, HEFWA helps elevate the importance of financial wellness across higher education.
The Higher Education Financial Wellness Alliance, known as HEFWA, seeks a full-time Member Engagement and Digital Programs Manager to strengthen HEFWA's member experience through responsive customer service, strategic communications, and high-quality digital programming.
Department Specific Responsibilities
- Manages multiple HEFWA projects from planning through implementation, evaluation, and reporting.
- Works on project areas include member and customer support, communications and marketing, digital programming, membership recruitment and retention, CashCourse account management and support, volunteer and Directorate coordination, Summit and event support, and data-informed continuous improvement.
- Serves as the 1st point of contact for prospective and current HEFWA members, CashCourse users, event participants, and general external inquiries.
- Works closely with the Executive Director of HEFWA to implement organizational strategy, improves member engagement, increases CashCourse awareness and usage, grows HEFWA's national visibility, and supports consistent, high-quality programming.
- Reports to the Executive Director of HEFWA and is housed within Indiana University's Office of the Vice President for Student Success, Enrollment and Institutional Effectiveness.
General Responsibilities
- Manages medium to large projects, from start to finish, ensuring on time completion within budget.
- Develops project plan(s) and efficiently analyzes, tracks, forecasts, and reports on project metrics and shortfalls.
- Coordinates and facilitates efforts of project team(s) consisting of various staff and hourly employees.
- Communicates ongoing changes in tasks, goals, or performance.
- Collaborates to ensure that project objectives are achieved within established time frames.
- Participates in client meetings, vendor/contract decisions, and development of project requirements and specifications.
- May provide guidance and support to less experienced peers.
Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education.
EDUCATION
Required
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field
Preferred
- Master's degree
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
- 2 years of relevant experience.
Preferred
- 1 year of relevant professional experience with experience in communications, marketing, project management, customer service, programming, event coordination, higher education, association management, nonprofit work, student affairs, financial wellness, financial education, or a related area.
- Experience coordinating webinars, virtual events, online trainings, conferences, coaching programs, or digital learning programs.
- Experience working with volunteers, committees, student workers, or community contributors.

- Interest in financial wellness, financial education, or higher education student success.
- Strong writing, project management, customer service, public speaking, organizational, and judgment skills.
- Ability to be collaborative, detail-oriented, and dependable.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to work effectively in a small-team environment.
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
This psoition requires some travel is required to support HEFWA events, conferences, outreach, and external engagement.
