Position Summary
The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Indiana University, Bloomington (https://psych.indiana.edu/), invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track position at the level of Clinical Assistant Professor to begin August 1, 2027. The qualified candidate will contribute to a new, highly innovative, and rigorous Bachelor of Science degree program in Clinical Psychological Science (see: https://psych.indiana.edu/undergraduate/clinical-psych-bs.html). This rapidly growing major is the first of its kind in the country and provides undergraduates with classroom and practicum-based training in experimental psychopathology and evidence-based assessment, intervention, dissemination, and implementation following a clinical science training model (see: https://psych.indiana.edu/news-events/news/2025/clinical-science-major.html).
Job duties consist primarily of undergraduate teaching and may involve supervision of applied clinical experiences (e.g., internships & practica at local mental health and community-based organizations). We seek an individual with experience or ability to teach Research Methods in Clinical Science, Psychological Assessment and Testing, Abnormal Psychology, or evidence-based clinical interventions courses on disorders and topics within the candidate’s primary area of specialization.
Candidates should be committed to a career of excellence in teaching and service, including coordinating degree requirements for the major, advising undergraduate students in academic and professional pursuits, and serving on departmental committees (e.g., student awards, undergraduate curricular planning). This will be a full-time non-tenure track, faculty appointment beginning with a 3-year renewable appointment, with promotion opportunities to Associate Clinical Professor and then Full Clinical Professor, based on demonstrated excellence in teaching and/or service.
