Schedule: Rotating Shifts
Location: Bloomington Hospital

Position Summary:

The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the hospital. This includes patient units, office areas, clinics, treatment/procedural areas, and public spaces. The role involves using various cleaning supplies and equipment, removing refuse and soiled linens, and adhering to infection control standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize occupied and unoccupied spaces using appropriate supplies and equipment

• Perform technical cleaning in specialized areas such as IR, Cardiac Cath, Mother-Baby, NICU, OR, and ED

• Operate light floor equipment in patient care areas

• Remove trash and soiled linens from designated areas

• Assist in lifting and transporting patients in emergency situations

• Wear required protective equipment (gowns, gloves, goggles, etc.)

Qualifications:

• Preferred: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience

• No prior experience required – training provided

• Ability to climb ladders and operate cleaning equipment

• Physical ability to perform tasks including:

  • Standing, reaching, squatting, bending, and lifting 35+ lbs up to 80% of the time

• Must possess a valid Indiana driver’s license and proof of insurance
