Job Description
Schedule: Rotating Shifts
Location: Bloomington Hospital
Position Summary:
The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the hospital. This includes patient units, office areas, clinics, treatment/procedural areas, and public spaces. The role involves using various cleaning supplies and equipment, removing refuse and soiled linens, and adhering to infection control standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Clean and sanitize occupied and unoccupied spaces using appropriate supplies and equipment
Perform technical cleaning in specialized areas such as IR, Cardiac Cath, Mother-Baby, NICU, OR, and ED
Operate light floor equipment in patient care areas
Remove trash and soiled linens from designated areas
Assist in lifting and transporting patients in emergency situations
Wear required protective equipment (gowns, gloves, goggles, etc.)
Qualifications:
Preferred: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
No prior experience required – training provided
Ability to climb ladders and operate cleaning equipment

Physical ability to perform tasks including:
Standing, reaching, squatting, bending, and lifting 35+ lbs up to 80% of the time
Must possess a valid Indiana driver’s license and proof of insurance
