Position: RN - Ambulatory Team Lead
Shift: 0.9 FTE (36 hours weekly) 3 shifts per week including Weekends and Holidays
The RN-Ambulatory Team Lead reflects the mission, vision, and values of Indiana University Health, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory and accreditation standards. The registered professional nurse (RN) is accountable for delivering and coordinating competent, evidence-based care along the care continuum—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The Clinical Nurse RN-Ambulatory Team Lead serves as the lead clinical nurse, coordinating with leaders, providers, and team members to ensure exemplary patient care.

Position Overview:
The RN-Ambulatory Team Lead functions as a clinical leader within the ambulatory setting, overseeing patient care activities, guiding team members, and ensuring adherence to best practices. This role involves coordinating multiple functions for a group of patients, supporting the delivery of high-quality, safe, and efficient care, and acting as a resource for staff and providers. The nurse promotes professional standards and works collaboratively to improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and coordinate evidence-based patient care activities within the ambulatory setting.
• Collaborate with leaders, providers, and care team members to deliver exemplary care and ensure smooth workflow.
• Assess patient needs, plan care, and evaluate outcomes to meet clinical standards.
• Support staff in clinical decision-making, adherence to standards, and safe practice.
• Maintain awareness of legal and ethical considerations related to patient care activities.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:
• Education:
- Associates of Nursing (ASN) required.
- Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Licensure & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Additional advanced life support certifications may be required per department policies.
• Experience & Skills:
- Two years of clinical experience preferred.
- Knowledge of clinical procedures, equipment, and supplies relevant to the setting.
- Ability to coordinate multiple functions effectively and efficiently.
- Understanding of legal implications related to nursing practice and patient care.
- Previous Urgent Care or ED experience Preferred
- Preceptor Experience Preferred
