Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital is seeking a dedicated Behavioral Health Counselor to provide essential mental health services. This full-time role involves conducting assessments, therapy sessions, discharge planning, and crisis intervention to support patients across the lifespan.

Position Overview:

The Behavioral Health Counselor will:

• Facilitate patient engagement in treatment and education

• Conduct individual, group, and family counseling using evidence-based practices

• Support discharge planning and care coordination

• Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive services

• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed

• Assist in assessing psychosocial risk factors and mobilizing community resources

• Serve as a key contact for protective and legal case management

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field required

• Current Indiana licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LCAC, or HSPP required

• Experience in mental health, healthcare, or community settings preferred

• Crisis intervention certification preferred

• BLS certification preferred or required within a specified time frame

• Proficiency in EMR and MS Office applications

• Strong collaboration and communication skills
