This position is part time, nights at Bloomington Hospital.
Responsible for the cardiac monitoring of patients, including those with technological support (i.e., pacemakers, AICD). Documents change in rhythm and reports these changes according to established protocol. Responsible for the completion of 12-lead Electrocardiograms if needed by the department’s workloads. Responsible for initiating, registering, and administering Zio XT/AT monitors on patients queued for discharge. Practical working knowledge of a technical or specialty area. Performs all standard and some technical aspects of the work group. Learns and applies new information readily in tasks / area of work. Works closely with leaders to learn more complex skills; may provide limited guidance / direction, training, and technical assistance to entry level employees. Demonstrates enthusiasm and desire to advance in the organization.
- Requires high school graduate or equivalent. Requires successful completion of Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia course; anatomy and physiology courses and/or related courses.
- Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies. Successful completion of Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia course and/or related courses required.
- Requires current Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
- Requires thorough knowledge of arrhythmia recognition.
- Requires good visual acuity and sustained concentration to effectively observe cardiac rhythms on CRTs.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Requires 2-4 years of experience in telemetry monitoring.
