Ivy Tech - Bloomington is looking for individuals to join their team as Adjunct Faculty members for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) program. The CCMA program is hosted in 12-14 week classes in partnership with local funding sources such as WorkOne and Next Level Jobs.

Working Hours: Multiple CCMA classes will be offered throughout the Bloomington service area. Locations for classes include: Bedford, Nashville, and Mooresville. Classes are typically held in the evenings. Program days and times are flexible; and will be determined by the instructors with guidance from the Program Manager.

Interested applicants should apply as soon as possible to be considered for the spring semester. Interviews will happen on a rolling basis until positions are full. Adjunct make $50 per contact hour (hours with students).

General purpose and scope of the position:

Ivy+ Career Link adjuncts are hired each term on an as-needed basis to instruct specific Skills Training programs. Ivy+ Career Link adjuncts are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi and course objectives provided.

This position will oversee classroom instruction for a National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) program.

Major Responsibilities:

• Facilitates student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
• Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
• Develops/maintains course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials. Maintains accurate student records, and other requirements.
• Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and leads to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College, shows evidence of developing and implementing active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning (curricular).
• Interacts with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complies with College policies, campus guidelines and expectations.
• Ensures knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs and all learning environments.

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.

Minimum Qualifications:
A qualified faculty member teaching in the Workforce Alignment CCMA program needs the following credentials:

Possesses an earned associate degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution, and Holds a current certification or license in one of the following: CCMA/CMA, LPN, RN or MSN, and Has a minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience, and Must hold a valid drivers license, with reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience teaching similar programs: CNA, LPN, RN, Phlebotomy, Medical Billing and Coding, or EKG. Individuals with experience in training, coaching, mentoring, or providing instruction to groups in either an outpatient or inpatient setting.
