Ivy Tech Community College seeks a knowledgeable and engaging Instructor to teach a 4-week, Intro to AI skills training course. This role is designed for professionals or academics with expertise in artificial intelligence who are passionate about preparing learners to confidently engage with AI tools, concepts, and applications. The course emphasizes hands-on practice, ethical considerations, and real-world problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, interactive online synchronous instruction aligned with the Course Outline of Record (COR).

  • Facilitate learning in areas including AI foundations, data strategy, AI models, prompt engineering, ethics, responsible AI, and real-world applications.

  • Prepare instructional materials, including use of Ivy Tech’s Canvas learning management system (LMS).

  • Guide students in applied exercises, activities, and discussions to reinforce real-world skills.

  • Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages participation and critical thinking.

  • Provide formative feedback and support learners of varied backgrounds and experiences.

Schedule & Format:

  • Duration: 4 weeks (October 27 – November 21)

  • Class Frequency: 2 classes per week

  • Class Length: 3 hours each

  • Class Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays

  • Class Timings: 6 pm to 9 pm

  • Total Contact Hours: 24 hours


Learning Environment:

  • Format: Interactive Online Synchronous

  • Capacity: 15 students (can run more sessions if we get additional students)

Instructor Pay:

  • $75/contact hour

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in Artificial Intelligence or related fields.

  • Experience teaching, training, or mentoring in academic, corporate, or professional settings.

  • Strong digital fluency and ability to leverage educational technologies effectively.

  • Ability to make complex AI concepts accessible and practical for adult learners.

  • Commitment to inclusive teaching practices that welcome learners from diverse backgrounds.

  • Adaptability to tailor instruction for varied student goals and levels of prior knowledge.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
