Job Summary: The Test Equipment Group Engineer is responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of automated test equipment used to validate test equipment for manufacturing. This role requires strong electrical and mechanical engineering fundamentals, hands-on troubleshooting skills, and experience developing test systems using LabVIEW, PLCs, and related instrumentation. The engineer will work closely with New Product Development, Production, Quality, and ITD to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient test solutions.Location: 815 Wernsing Road, Jasper, IN 47546Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and implement custom test equipment including fixtures, harnesses, control panels, and automated test systems.Create and modify electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using CAD tools.Design mechanical components for fixtures and test stations, ensuring safety, robustness, ergonomics, and repeatability.Select and integrate sensors, actuators, DAQ hardware, power supplies, and measurement instruments.Develop, debug, and maintain LabVIEW-based test applications for automated data acquisition, control, and reporting.Interface LabVIEW with test instruments (e.g., DMMs, power supplies, oscilloscopes) via common protocols (GPIB, USB, Ethernet, Serial).Implement pass/fail criteria, test sequencing, data logging, and user interfaces.Support version control and software documentation best practices.Generate and maintain complete documentation, including schematics, BOMs, test procedures, and calibration requirements. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technician, Mechanical Engineering Technician, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field.Strong knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals, including analog and digital circuits, power systems, and signal integrity.Working knowledge of mechanical design principles for fixtures, enclosures, and tooling.Proficiency in LabVIEW for test automation and data acquisition.Experience creating and reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.Familiarity with test and measurement equipment (DMMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, DAQs).Hands-on troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, and software domains.
