Job Description

Kratos Defense & Rocket Support Services, Inc. is leading the way in the Department of Defense’s research, design, development and analysis of new and existing launch vehicles including: design, fabrication and assembly; environmental testing of flight and ground support systems; Ground Support Equipment (GSE) design, fabrication, maintenance, modification, upgrade, and refurbishment; science mission feasibility studies and planning; program management for planning, scheduling and staffing; supply chain management and logistics; engineering and technical support for system acceptance and refurbishment for reutilization on future missions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Develops plans to ensure timely supply of materials in support of the integrated launch operations schedule. Reports regularly on performance.
  • Reviews bills of materials (BOMs) with project managers and engineers to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Provides material pricing to business development and project management elements in a timely fashion to support proposal and BOM development.
  • Generates and distributes vendor requests for quote (RFQs) including and manages vendors responses.
  • Reviews vendor quotes and selects vendors based on cost, quality, and schedule.
  • Initiates purchase requests including all special instructions and routes for approval.
  • Maintains purchase management and control system, and accuracy of all appropriate documentation.
  • Tracks material delivery schedules.
  • Ensures supplier quality and on-time delivery.
  • Completes vendor performance evaluations IAW Kratos Quality Management System.
  • Conducts materials inventory intake and asset ID assignment.
  • Manages transfer of materials to project BOMs to support rocket launch mission execution.

Other Job Functions

  • Develops and implements new or improved supply chain processes.
  • Develops and implements supply chain strategies to aggressively reduce the cost of materials, components, and subsystems; reduce material lead times.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience And Skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or subcontract administration supporting government or defense programs.
  • Strong understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and government contracting requirements.
  • Experience sourcing and procuring materials, components, and services for complex technical or defense systems.
  • Ability to develop requests for proposal (RFPs), evaluate supplier proposals, negotiate pricing and terms, and issue purchase orders and subcontracts.
  • Experience managing supplier performance, delivery schedules, and cost tracking to support program execution.
  • Familiarity with cost analysis, price justification, and documentation required to support government contract compliance.
  • Experience coordinating with engineering, program management, and finance teams to ensure procurement activities align with program schedules and technical requirements.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Active Secret Clearance
