Job Description
The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing and controlling all material, parts, and equipment inventory that supports the sustainment and readiness of SPY-1 systems. This role ensures accurate stock levels, proper tracking of serialized and high-value components, timely replenishment, and efficient material movement. The Inventory Manager maintains accountability for government-furnished and company-owned property, supports audits and inspections, and works closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, Depot Operations, and Navy stakeholders to ensure all inventory processes meet program, contractual, and regulatory requirements. The position requires strong attention to detail, effective coordination across teams, and a commitment to maintaining inventory accuracy and material availability for mission?critical operations.

The Inventory Manager maintains accountability for government-furnished and company-owned property, supports audits and inspections, and works closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, Depot Operations, and Navy stakeholders to ensure all inventory processes meet program, contractual, and regulatory requirements. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Manage, track, and reconcile inventory for SPY-1 parts, assemblies, consumables, and repairable assets.
- Maintain accurate stock records, shelf?life data, serial numbers, and material status within the inventory and ERP systems.
- Lead inventory cycle counts, physical inventories, audits, and reconciliation efforts.
- Oversee receiving, put?away, storage, material handling, and issuing processes.
- Monitor stock levels, shortages, and reorder points to ensure continuous material availability.
- Identify and investigate discrepancies, root causes, and corrective actions.
- Coordinate with repair facilities to track repairable units, turnaround times, and serviceable status.
- Maintain proper storage conditions, labeling, and handling of sensitive or high-value components.
- Ensure compliance with inventory-related DoD, Navy, company, and contract regulations.
- Prepare inventory reports, metrics, and readiness summaries for program and customer review.
- Support obsolescence checks, material planning activities, and future demand forecasting.
- Collaborate with engineering and supply chain personnel to understand material requirements and support system sustainment.
- Oversee packaging, shipping, documentation, and transportation coordination for outgoing materials.
- Ensure compliance with export control requirements (ITAR/EAR) for inventory items.
- Support Government Furnished Property (GFP) tracking and accountability when required.
- Participate in program meetings, readiness reviews, and logistics working groups as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in inventory management or material control experice supporting defense programs or complex technical systems.
- Knowledge of DoD acquisition logistics policies (DoDI 5000.91, DAU Logistics Framework, LCSP development).
- Proficiency with inventory management and ERP systems.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and other data management tools.
- Experience performing cycle counts, audits, and reconciliations.
- Ability to interpret part numbers, technical data, and material documentation.
- Knowledge of warehousing procedures, safety requirements, and stock control practices.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve discrepancies and maintain high accuracy in inventory records.
- Familiarity with Navy logistics systems (e.g., NDE, TDMIS, FEDLOG, CDMD-OA).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Active Security Clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Certified operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material?handling equipment.
- Strong knowledge of PHS&T (Packaging, Handling, Storage & Transportation) requirements for sensitive equipment.
- Ability to package, preserve, and prepare items for shipment in accordance with DoD and industry standards.
- Skilled in safe loading/unloading, warehouse safety practices, and OSHA compliance.
- Experience managing organized, secure storage areas and controlled inventory zones.
- Proficient in receiving inspections, damage checks, and verifying materials against documentation.
