REMOTE - Arc Flash Electrical Engineer

In this role you will be expected to provide engineering support for new and existing electrical/power systems, and conduct and/or provide oversight for arc flash studies of varying size and complexity.

Primary Responsibilities
- Perform planning and evaluation of new and existing electrical / power systems across a wide range of facilities and associated equipment
- Perform studies for power systems modeling, power flow, short circuit, protection devices coordination, arc flash, and related engineering tasks for medium and low voltage power distribution (35 kV and less)
- Oversee field data collection efforts for lower voltage facilities and build engineering models for the purpose of performing arc flash analysis
To be considered for the following levels:
- Mid Level: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required with a minimum of four (4) + years of relevant Arc Flash Electrical Engineering experience either with an electric utility or with an electric utility consulting company
- Senior Level: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required with a minimum of eight (8) + years of relevant Arc Flash Electrical Engineering experience either with an electric utility or with an electric utility consulting company
Primary Requirements
- PE or ability to obtain professional license is highly preferred
- Experience in conducting Arc Flash Hazard Analysis using NFPA 70E and IEEE standards.
- Ability to use Arc Flash software, such as Cyme, Synergi, WindMil, or ETAP (will also accept other related software), to produce analysis reports and conduct report reviews.
- Must have conducted Arc Flash Analysis (from conception to execution) and provided direct supervisory oversight of the project.
- Must possess experience in the most current electrical engineering principles and practices.
- Requires in-depth knowledge of NFPA 70E and applicable OSHA standards, working knowledge of the NEC, and demonstrated working experience on or around energized equipment in an industrial setting including proper PPE in order to ensure a safe work environment and personnel safety.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills to be used in responding to electrical safety questions and performing program presentations.
- Working knowledge and proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office applications to include: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Office and MS Power Point

Pay Range:
Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
