Leidos is hiring a Principal Software Developer to join our Future Flight Services Program (FFSP) development team. The successful candidate will be responsible with all phases of software development ranging from: design and coding to integrating and reviewing software components, from testing and bug fixing to documentation, building and presenting demos to stakeholders.

Other responsibilities include:
- Analyze system requirements and create detailed software requirements specifications for implementation in various software development phases.
- Developing software in Java/J2EE in an agile environment
- Conduct testing and validation of software components, including unit testing and integration testing, to ensure reliability and functionality.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and other team activities to provide technical expertise and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements, contributing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Support troubleshooting efforts and provide technical assistance to resolve software-related issues during development and post-production phases.
- Document software designs, specifications, and test procedures to maintain comprehensive records and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to implement software solutions that meet system specifications and performance criteria.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science or Electronics & Electrical /Telecommunications Engineering with 12+ years of related experience or a Masters degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science or Electronics & Electrical /Telecommunications Engineering with 10+ years of related experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust security clearance
- Experience with FAA Flight Service, specifically Aviation data and concepts
- Experience with Agile SW development, architect and design complex SW systems
- Expert knowledge in Java, Jave EE
- Spring Framework
- JMS/AMQ
- Multi-threading & Concurrency
- Performance tuning and optimization
- Experience with Python and UWSGI
- Experience with Web development
- HTML5, Javascript
- SOAP and REST Web Services
- Experience with Geospatial software development
- Hexagon Lightspeed
- Experience with MongoDB, Postgres/PostGIS
- Experience with IT automation using Ansible

Pay Range:
Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
