Leidos is hiring a Principal Software Developer to join our Future Flight Services Program (FFSP) development team. The successful candidate will be responsible with all phases of software development ranging from: design and coding to integrating and reviewing software components, from testing and bug fixing to documentation, building and presenting demos to stakeholders.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Analyze system requirements and create detailed software requirements specifications for implementation in various software development phases.
  • Developing software in Java/J2EE in an agile environment
  • Conduct testing and validation of software components, including unit testing and integration testing, to ensure reliability and functionality.
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and other team activities to provide technical expertise and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements, contributing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts and provide technical assistance to resolve software-related issues during development and post-production phases.
  • Document software designs, specifications, and test procedures to maintain comprehensive records and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to implement software solutions that meet system specifications and performance criteria.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science or Electronics & Electrical /Telecommunications Engineering with 12+ years of related experience or a Masters degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science or Electronics & Electrical /Telecommunications Engineering with 10+ years of related experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust security clearance
  • Experience with FAA Flight Service, specifically Aviation data and concepts
  • Experience with Agile SW development, architect and design complex SW systems
  • Expert knowledge in Java, Jave EE
    • Spring Framework
    • JMS/AMQ
    • Multi-threading & Concurrency
    • Performance tuning and optimization
  • Experience with Python and UWSGI
  • Experience with Web development
    • HTML5, Javascript
    • SOAP and REST Web Services
  • Experience with Geospatial software development
    • Hexagon Lightspeed
  • Experience with MongoDB, Postgres/PostGIS
  • Experience with IT automation using Ansible

Pay Range:

Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00
