Leidos, Security Enterprise Solutions is seeking an experienced Director of Configuration Management to lead the configuration management function within our product manufacturing organization. This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining robust configuration management strategies, policies, and processes that ensure the accuracy, consistency, and traceability of all product data and configuration items (CIs) throughout the entire product lifecycle—from design and development through production and sustainment.

This individual will oversee a team of configuration management professionals and work closely with engineering, manufacturing, operations, quality, and product management to ensure that engineering changes, documentation, and product configurations are effectively controlled and communicated across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement configuration management frameworks and governance models that support product design, manufacturing, and lifecycle maintenance.
  • Define and enforce configuration control processes for engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), and associated documentation.
  • Lead the Configuration Control Board (CCB) to manage engineering change orders (ECOs), deviations, and product updates.
  • Ensure full traceability of product configurations and revisions in the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and/or ERP systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely release, change control, and documentation of manufactured products.
  • Drive continuous improvement of CM tools, automation, and data integrity within PLM and ERP systems.
  • Guide implementation of an updated product lifecycle management tool, including new process and procedure development and creation of employee educational documentation and sessions.
  • Support quality and regulatory compliance efforts (e.g., ISO 9001and other applicable standards.)
  • Lead and develop a high-performing configuration management team to support company objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 10+ years of in configuration management or product data management within a manufacturing, engineering or government contracting environment. Additional years of experience in lieu of education will be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of government regulations
  • Strong knowledge of PLM and ERP systems (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter, SAP, Oracle Agile, Arena).
  • Proven experience managing engineering change processes and maintaining product documentation accuracy.
  • Familiarity with ISO, AS, or other regulatory and quality system standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to influence across departments.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security or public trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Configuration Management
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00
