Leidos has an exciting career opportunity for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) focused on growth for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Federal Health Cyber initiatives
Leidos is committed to serving the health agencies and the Department of Veterans Affairs with transformative technologies and secure solutions as they meet their mission outcomes and efficiency expectations. This SME will serve as a “Strategic Advisor” to expand our IT portfolio within the VA and its core components, along with improving cyber footprint across all the Health agencies. The SME will collaborate with Leidos program managers, growth leads, capture managers, solution architects and other specialists from the Health space to increase our footprint within the VA OIT agencies, by addressing the customer’s pressing needs.
This SME will play a critical role in strategic captures and will also partner with growth leads and account managers to develop customer call plan, on-contract growth plays and marketing strategies to achieve maximum customer and market penetration to drive strategic growth. This position is based at the Leidos Global Headquarters in Reston VA and may require travel up to 20%.
Primary Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Leidos account managers, BD leads, capture managers and line management to drive growth in the VA OIT and federal Health cyber opportunity space
Lead and define new opportunity plays based on pressing customer needs and changing federal requirements
Support cross enterprise objectives, customer engagement and VA growth initiatives.
Support capture managers for selected strategic opportunities throughout the capture lifecycle.
Provide guidance to program teams to drive innovation and value to customers.
Participate in the Leidos business development process, including pipeline reviews, opportunity gate reviews, black hat sessions, and proposal development and reviews.
Partner with Leidos Practices to identify and mature differentiating technologies based on customer needs.
Proactively identify customer needs and align sales plays and opportunity pipeline against these.
Perform market research to support new business opportunities, including analysis of customer budgets, capabilities required, current customer preferences, competitive environment assessments, and incumbent strengths and weaknesses.
Support meetings with customers, competitors, clients, and teammates to develop market insight on requirements, acquisition strategy, acquisition timing, and contract vehicle choices.
Work with the HealthIT and VA growth teams across the enterprise and assist with call plan development, its execution and follow through.
Support overall strategic planning and linking pursuits/capture activities which support the business development metrics for awards, submits, and pipeline.
Interact routinely with customers and internal Leidos stakeholders across the Leidos Sectors.
Regular briefings to Leidos leadership to status on progress and opportunity landscape for VA and federal health cyber.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, preferred in related technical or management field, and 15+ years of experience. (Additional education, training or experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
Demonstrated access to key customers and industry partners.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Leadership skills to develop, organize and execute significant technical growth activities, including identifying technology plays with customers, building industry teams, assessing win probability, and executing customer call plans.
Candidates must be US Citizens and be eligible to obtain security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong, respected relationships within the federal health agencies and the VA
Proficiency in health IT in the Federal Government and experience with federal government budget, investments and acquisition processes
Ability to gain internal support, operate independently with limited supervision and feedback, and establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, division managers, and peers across Leidos
Self-starter and ability to manage time independently without direct supervision
The ability to operate at the senior level and influence, negotiate and close

Pay Range:
Pay Range $154,050.00 - $278,475.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
