Linguist/Exploitation Specialist
The Intel Sector team is seeking experienced Linguist/Exploitation Specialist who is fluent in Hungarian, Serbian, Bosnian and Slovak to support a high-impact Intelligence Community customer in the National Capital Region (NCR). This is a unique opportunity to apply your language expertise, analytical skills, and cultural insight to meaningful, real-world missions—all from your home office.
As a linguist on this contract, you will work with a wide range of traditional and social media content, transforming complex information into clear, accurate, and actionable intelligence products. Your work will directly support customer decision-making in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Language Requirement
Hungarian, Serbian, Bosnian and Slovak
Full professional fluency in American English, including strong command of idioms and expressions
What You’ll Do
Monitor Internet-based and social media sources in Hungarian, Serbian, Bosnian and Slovak using customer-defined criteria
Translate, summarize, analyze, and report on text, audio, video, and social media content, including technical material
Identify key themes, trends, and insights while capturing geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural context
Produce high-quality written products that meet strict editorial, style, and formatting standards
Respond to evolving customer requirements by collecting data, analyzing results, and publishing detailed reports
Collaborate as part of a virtual team, while also working independently and managing competing priorities
Work Schedule & Location
100% remote (home office)
Primarily Monday–Friday, with occasional nights and weekends as mission needs require
Minimum Qualifications
U.S. citizen
Bachelor’s degree with 2–4 years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with less than 2 years of experience. Additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Professional-level foreign language proficiency (ILR 3 or higher on a translation test)
Experience as a foreign media collector, translator, analyst, technical officer, or journalist
Demonstrated experience with open-source research, including social media exploitation
Strong understanding of relevant media environments
Ability to accurately summarize both factual details and abstract concepts
Advanced computer skills, including MS Office and Internet research tools
Proven ability to work independently and contribute effectively to a distributed, virtual team
Self-motivated, intellectually curious, and eager to solve problems and learn new skills
Excellent organization, time management, attention to detail, and initiative
Familiarity with human language translation, post-edited machine translation, and adaptive machine translation tools
Preferred Qualifications
Experience translating or summarizing live or recorded audio/video content
Ability to quickly triage large volumes of material to isolate nuanced, high-value information
Successful completion of English and foreign language translation testing
