Leidos Power Delivery Solutions is seeking a P6 Project Scheduler to assist in the oversight and coordination of projects for a large electric utility client. Ideal Candidates will have a strong background in scheduling complex projects and programs related to the planning, design and construction of infrastructure projects. This role will have client facing responsibilities and requires expertise in navigating the regulatory landscape and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

The P6 Project Scheduler will be part of our Strategic Program & Project Consulting team that provides consulting services to both public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities. These consulting services provide clients with overall project management tasks in the areas of comprehensive engineering design of electrical transmission and distribution, substation and transmission line projects nationwide. This role will require comprehensive understanding of and proficiency with Primavera P6 project scheduling and management software. Candidates must have previous P6 experience in order to execute this position successfully.

This role has remote working capabilities, however periodic travel to client sites throughout Central Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Oklahoma, Northwest Louisiana, Western Arkansas and/or Northeast Texas may be required. Therefore, candidates located in these areas may be preferred. Candidates across the US will be considered, if willing and able to travel where necessary (likely less than 20% of the time).

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain and drive engineering and construction schedules for various sized transmission & distribution and related projects for public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities located throughout the United States

  • Work with Project Management using earned value management techniques to ensure that schedule and costs are aligned, including the development of recovery plans, to stay within approved limits

  • Partner closely with Engineering Leads and Managers to track and execute client deliverables

  • Develop and produce schedule weekly/monthly project control reports for client and internal management review: which includes resource loading analysis and schedules, critical path items and risk analysis

  • Interfacing directly with the client and internal management to report progress, schedule and risks across a portfolio of electrical distribution projects

  • Assist the project manager with the creation and maintenance of comprehensive project dashboard reports and KPI tracking

Background Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the following disciplines: Engineering, Construction Management, Business or Finance required with a minimum of four years of relevant Primavera P6 scheduling experience

  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in P6, including WBS development, activity coding, logic sequencing, constraint application, resource/cost loading, and critical path analysis
  • Proven ability to build and maintain integrated master schedules (IMS) in P6, including baseline management, schedule updates, progress tracking, and variance analysis
  • Experience performing schedule quality/health checks in P6 (e.g., DCMA 14-point assessment) to identify logic errors, open ends, constraint issues, leads/lags, and float anomalies.
  • Skilled in generating P6 schedule reports, layouts, and filters, and exporting schedule data for stakeholder reporting and analysis
  • Proficient in navigating P6 database structures (EPS), import/export functionality (XER/XML), schedule baselining and schedule comparison tools.
  • Experience conducting schedule risk analysis and variance reporting directly within P6 preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for sharing schedule information with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency utilizing MS Project suite with a heavy emphasis on MS Excel.
  • Track contractor performance against planned activities and participate in schedule review meetings.
  • Develop and analyze schedule scenarios to understand the effects of potential scope adjustments.
