Job Description

Summary


The role of Delivery Driver/Material Handler is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods from the warehouse to various MSFN and customer locations. This role involves loading and unloading materials, ensuring accurate delivery, and providing excellent customer service. The delivery driver/material handler must adhere to all traffic and safety regulations while maintaining the condition of the delivery vehicle.

Additionally, this role is responsible for efficiently and safely handling, moving, and storing materials within the warehouse. This position involves loading and unloading materials, ensuring accurate inventory management, maintaining a clean and organized work environment to support overall warehouse operations.


Role and Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company vehicles to transport goods to MSFN locations, customers, and partners.
  • Load and unload materials from the delivery vehicle, ensuring proper handling and securing of items to prevent damage during transit.
  • Verify delivery instructions and ensure accurate and timely delivery of goods according to the delivery schedule.
  • Maintain delivery logs and reports, accurately documenting delivery activities, mileage, and any issues encountered.
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections and perform basic maintenance tasks, reporting any mechanical issues to the supervisor.
  • Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations to ensure safe driving practices.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers, providing updates on delivery times and handling any issues that arise.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional manner, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with the organization and management of delivery routes for maximum efficiency.
  • Ensure the delivery vehicle is kept clean and in good working condition.
  • This position may occasionally support other locations through short-term travel or assignments to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Provide support with material handling duties during non-delivery periods
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.


ADDITIONAL Role and Responsibilities

  • Load and unload materials from trucks, pallets, and shelves using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
  • Move materials to designated storage areas within the warehouse.
  • Ensure accurate labeling and placement of materials according to inventory management procedures.
  • Perform inventory checks and cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Assist in the packing and shipping of products, ensuring correct labeling and documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by adhering to safety regulations and company policies.
  • Operate warehouse equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Assist with the receiving and inspection of incoming materials, verifying quantities and quality.
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and address any issues.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse operations and efficiency.


Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent education.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience as a delivery driver and/or similar role.
  • Familiarity with GPS devices and navigation systems.
  • Strong knowledge of local roads and routes.
  • Basic mechanical skills for routine vehicle maintenance.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse management systems and inventory control procedures.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 75 lbs.) and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.


additional qualifications

  • Proven experience as a material handler, warehouse associate, or similar role.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory tracking.
  • Able to acquire "For Hire" certification


Preferred Skills

  • Certification in forklift operation or other relevant equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and handle unexpected situations.
  • Experience with delivery management or warehouse management software.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse environment.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.

Additional Notes

  • This position involves working in various weather conditions and exposure to traffic.
  • The role may require extended hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet delivery schedules.
  • The Delivery Driver/Material Handler will spend significant time driving and physically handling materials during loading and unloading.
  • The position requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
