MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior AWS Network Engineer to join our team in Virginia Beach, VA. This is a remote position.

The Senior AWS Network Engineer will be supporting an ambitious endeavor to reimagine how our customer, Naval Sea Systems, provides AWS cloud services to its customers. This includes a reimagining of the traditional network stack with a cloud native approach.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Design, deploy, and manage highly available and scalable network architectures within AWS, including VPCs, subnets, route tables, and security group

• Configure and maintain AWS networking services such as Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, and Load Balancers (ALB/NLB)

• Implement and enforce network security best practices, including firewall rules, NACLs, and compliance with industry standards

• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues, ensuring optimal uptime and reliability

• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and opentofu for network provisioning and management

• Collaborate with development and operations teams to support application deployment and resolve networking-related challenges

• Stay current with the latest AWS services and networking trends to recommend and implement new technologies

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 4+ years of networking experience; an additional 4 years of networking experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree.

• Cisco Certified Network Associate-level knowledge

• Hold a current DoD Security+​ CE certification

• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification

• Proven expertise with core AWS networking services (VPC, Route 53, Direct Connect, AWS VPN)

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and/or opentofu

Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty certification

• Familiarity with container networking (e.g., Kubernetes, Amazon EKS)

• Knowledge of network monitoring tools and protocols

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies

Clearance Requirements:

• US Citizenship required and active Secret clearance

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
  Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

• Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations

• Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
