MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior AWS Network Engineer to join our team in Virginia Beach, VA. This is a remote position.
The Senior AWS Network Engineer will be supporting an ambitious endeavor to reimagine how our customer, Naval Sea Systems, provides AWS cloud services to its customers. This includes a reimagining of the traditional network stack with a cloud native approach.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Design, deploy, and manage highly available and scalable network architectures within AWS, including VPCs, subnets, route tables, and security group
Configure and maintain AWS networking services such as Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, and Load Balancers (ALB/NLB)
Implement and enforce network security best practices, including firewall rules, NACLs, and compliance with industry standards
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues, ensuring optimal uptime and reliability
Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and opentofu for network provisioning and management
Collaborate with development and operations teams to support application deployment and resolve networking-related challenges
Stay current with the latest AWS services and networking trends to recommend and implement new technologies
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 4+ years of networking experience; an additional 4 years of networking experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Cisco Certified Network Associate-level knowledge
Hold a current DoD Security+ CE certification
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification
Proven expertise with core AWS networking services (VPC, Route 53, Direct Connect, AWS VPN)
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and/or opentofu
Preferred Qualifications:
AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty certification
Familiarity with container networking (e.g., Kubernetes, Amazon EKS)
Knowledge of network monitoring tools and protocols
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies
Clearance Requirements:
US Citizenship required and active Secret clearance
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations
Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
The projected compensation range for this position is $92,900.00-$154,100.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
