MANTECH seeks a motivated, career- and customer-oriented Senior Platform Engineer to join the Digital Services Ecosystem (DSE) team within the Growth organization. The position is remote (US-based) with up to 10% travel.

This role is part of our core engineering team, helping build, deliver, operate, and maintain the Enterprise Digital Services Ecosystem (DSE) platform at MANTECH. You will be expected to contribute and review source code as part of our library of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) resources, including Terraform modules, Ansible Collections, Docker Containers, and GitLab CI Pipelines, in accordance with our team standards and processes.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Participate in the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the Enterprise Digital Services Ecosystem (DSE), ensuring high availability and reliability of enterprise-scale, uptime-sensitive systems used to deliver critical engineering applications and services to end users

  • Help manage our cloud enclaves (primarily in AWS GovCloud), utilizing tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, and GitLab CI

  • Actively use, maintain, and expand the library of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) resources used to deploy and maintain our applications and services, including Terraform modules, Ansible Collections, Docker Containers, and GitLab CI Pipelines, while conforming to best practices and architecture patterns

  • Help improve our team’s internal tools and processes through automation, monitoring, and alerting to reduce operational toil

  • Participate in team rituals and rhythms, leveraging corporate shared services like GitLab, Jira, and Confluence to support daily activities and deliver on our long-term roadmap

  • Ensure compliance with corporate policy, security requirements, industry regulations, and third-party standards to maintain system integrity and security

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field

  • 9+ years of experience following and applying DevSecOps or Platform Engineering practices

  • 3+ years of experience following and applying DevSecOps or Platform Engineering practices

  • 2+ years of experience with one or more of the following technologies:

    • HashiCorp Terraform

    • RedHat Ansible

    • Kubernetes

  • 1+ year of experience with cloud-native managed services from AWS

  • Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Platform Engineering best practices

  • Proficiency with modern Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) tools and practices, including Git, GitHub/GitLab, and collaboration tools (we use Jira and Confluence from Atlassian)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience applying Platform Engineering on Amazon Web Services (AWS), preferably in AWS GovCloud

  • 3+ years of experience with the following technologies:

    • HashiCorp stack (Packer, Vault, Boundary)

    • RedHat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP)

    • Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS)

    • Docker/Podman

    • GitLab CI

    • ArgoCD

  • Experience working in a regulated industry, particularly the public sector

  • Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) fundamentals, including computer, networking, storage, managed services, web servers, databases, and system design patterns

  • Understanding of security best practices and compliance frameworks

Clearance Requirements

  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

  • Occasionally move about inside the office to collaborate with other leaders/teams, use standard office automation equipment, and virtual communication


The projected compensation range for this position is $145,300.00-$257,800.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
