MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior AI Engineer to join our Data and AI Practice. This is a remote position.

In this role, you will design, develop, and implement advanced AI and ML solutions to achieve client mission goals. You will collaborate with a team of architects, developers, data engineers, and data scientists using AI, data science and machine learning to deliver solutions to clients. The ideal candidate will have deep data science and ML Ops skills and experience, a firm understanding of tools and frameworks, and client-oriented approach to applying technology to complex problems.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Interview customers to understand and document their current data analytical needs to assess how AI and ML solutions can address those needs.

  • Elicit requirements and develop technical designs and specifications for new AI and ML solutions.

  • Install, configure, test, and document the use of AI and ML tools for use in building solutions.

  • Use AI and ML tools to design, develop, test, and deploy models and applications that address data analytical needs.

  • Deploy, operationalize, and scale analytic and machine learning models and solutions based on those models.

  • Communicate findings to diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders and engage clients by effectively conveying complex technical concepts

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Engineering, or Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Statistics, Machine Learning, Data Science, or related field

  • 5 or more years’ experience in data science, AI or machine learning

  • 5 or more years’ experience with Python code development

  • 5 or more years’ experience installing, configuring, and using ML tools, such as MLFlow and Jupyter Notebooks

  • Experience with generative AI development platform such as Flowise

  • Experience working with Government customers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in a related field.

  • Expertise with natural language processing, computer vision, or deep learning.

  • Experience with Data Engineering tasks, such as extract/transform/load (ETL), data cleansing, and data wrangling. Experience with AWS Cloud AI, ML and Data services

  • Experience with US Air Force

  • CompTIA Security+ certification

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • US citizenship with a Secret level clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel (10% or less).

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.


The projected compensation range for this position is $92,900.00-$154,100.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
