MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented AWS Cloud Security Engineer to join our team in Virginia Beach, VA. This is a remote position.

The Cloud Security Engineer will be supporting an ambitious endeavor to reimagine how our customer, Naval Sea Systems, provides AWS cloud services to its customers. This includes deploying AWS services in a modern, fully automated manner.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Monitor, configure, and maintain security tooling within AWS to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities
• Work within Splunk to analyze logs, build basic dashboards, and explain data flows between components
• Manage and optimize SIEM workflows to correlate data and improve incident response times
• Participate in Agile ceremonies as a member of a highly functioning Agile engineering team
• Create, maintain, and update relevant system documentation as required

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related STEM field; OR High School Diploma and 8+ years of relevant cloud engineering experience.
• 4+ years of experience in cloud engineering.
• Active entry-level cloud certification (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Microsoft AZ-900).
• Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 Computing Environment (CE) certification within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to navigate the Splunk environment, demonstrate understanding of its core architecture (Search Heads, Indexers, and Forwarders), and explain how data is ingested, indexed, and queried.
• Experience with AWS GuardDuty for threat detection and AWS Inspector for vulnerability management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience securing Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) and/or managing Kubernetes clusters.
• Familiarity with Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) (formerly McAfee ePO) for centralized security policy management.
• Experience using ACAS (Assured Compliance Assessment Solution) / Tenable for network discovery and compliance assessment.
• Active AWS Security – Specialty certification.

Clearance Requirements:

• Must have an active Secret security clearance

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
• Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
• Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
