MANTECH seeks a motivated, mission-oriented Data Engineer to join our Data and AI Practice. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines and architecture that support enterprise-scale data initiatives for Government customers. In this role, you will collaborate with a team of engineers and developers to provide sophisticated data integration and data management solutions.
This successful candidate will be an integral part of a Data team working data migration development and validation tasks, in addition to broader database engineering activities in support of a large-scale migration from a legacy application to a modern, cloud-hosted technology stack. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual who can work well with a cross-functional team. This is a remote position.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Design and implement robust data pipelines to ingest, transform, and integrate data from various systems and networks, ensuring seamless data flow.
- Collaborate with cloud and system architects to establish secure and efficient data transfer protocols among different networks and systems.
- Work with data consumers to develop data requirements to support data migration as well as analytics tasks.
- Communicate well on all levels to various government and contractor support personnel including Developers, Business Analysts, Testers, Engineers, Operations Administrators, and Leadership.
- Plan, develop and implement improvements, new features and changes to existing SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Be able to operate independently as well as seamlessly with the team to complete the mission.
- Work with external partners to gather requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, data science, or information technology and 4 years of experience in information technology systems development.
- Proficiency developing, documenting, and modeling SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in SQL that includes modifying database data/objects, analyzing relationships and data reconciliation in a SQL database.
- Experience in JavaScript that includes modifying database data/objects, analyzing relationships, validating data types and data reconciliation in a NoSQL database. Experience developing python scripts used to access, query, and modify data in SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
- Experience using ETL/streaming framework tools (e.g., Apache NiFi) and principals (e.g., full and CDC data load techniques). Experience using DevOps tools and principals.
- Experience applying Agile design methodology and tools (e.g., Jira). Experience or knowledge of SAFe.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently holds a Common Access Card/T3 investigation
- Experience with Defense Medical Logistics – Enterprise Solution applications and support of DoD medical treatment facilities.
- Experience with Apache NiFi. Experience with pgSQL, plSQL or other SQL procedural language.
- Any one of the following certifications: Cloud+, SSCP, Security+, GSEC, SecurityX/CASP+, CISA, CISSP, CISSP-ISSAP or CISSP-ISSEP.
- Experience leveraging AI tools for code generation, data analysis, or code reviews.
Clearance Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance; and will be subject to a Tier 3 Investigation for DoD Common Access Card (CAC) eligibility only. Candidates who have recently completed T3 investigations are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
The projected compensation range for this position is $94,800.00-$157,200.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
