MANTECH seeks a highly capable and results-driven Project Engineer, Lead to oversee the successful execution of complex engineering projects as part of a strategic OEM Digital Transformation effort. This senior-level role directs end-to-end project coordination—aligning technical delivery, resource planning, and strategic oversight to meet mission-critical goals.

The position plays a pivotal role in helping the OEM adopt Digital Engineering (DE) and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) across product lifecycle phases. As the Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, you will manage project performance across multiple dimensions including scheduling, engineering process alignment, vendor integration, and risk governance.

Responsibilities

  • Leading Integrated Product Team (IPT) efforts for assigned capabilities during each project phase, ensuring alignment with digital transformation goals.

  • Directing the development and maintenance of the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) to synchronize timelines and critical path milestones.

  • Overseeing comprehensive requirements and process engineering activities to ensure traceability and delivery of scope.

  • Managing projects include scope definition, risk identification, opportunity tracking, and performance controls.

  • Requesting engineering and project resources based on workload projections and task dependencies defined in the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).

  • Driving budget planning and financial tracking, ensuring cost-effective execution in compliance with contract parameters.

  • Monitoring vendor performance and leading integration efforts to ensure cohesive solution delivery and accountability across project partners.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Systems Management, or related field.

  • 10+ years of experience managing complex engineering or systems integration projects.

  • Proven leadership experience in digital engineering or defense acquisition environments.

  • Expertise in developing Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), engineering WBS structures, and performance dashboards.

  • Demonstrated success managing vendor coordination and risk mitigation across large multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Engineering Management, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • PMP or similar project management certification.

  • Experience with MBSE implementation and systems lifecycle planning.

  • Familiarity with Agile, Earned Value Management (EVM), and technical performance measurement frameworks.

Clearance Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.

  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.


The projected compensation range for this position is $139,700.00-$250,700.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
